Which do you think is easier, knitting or crocheting?

I signed up for a kitting/crocheting cl and need to choose one or the other. Which do you think would be easier to learn? I have tried crocheting before and get the basic idea. I have never finished a project though! I was thinking I may do better at knitting as it would be brand new. Any suggestions?
