MLA handwritten source cards - italics or underline?

I'm writing out source cards for my research paper, and our MLA handbook, for online sources, says to give the name of the online magazine or newspaper in italics. I know that when you handwrite things, you're supposed to underline them, though, and this handbook seems to be more directed towards typing up bibliographies. So, for the handwritten source cards, do I italicize or underline the name of the online magazine/newspaper?
