How should I introduce myself to a girl (how should I say my name)?

My first name is Curtis and most of my friends call me that, but my family usually calls me Curt. Usually when someone asks me what my name is I will say Curtis even though now that I'm in my early twenties it sounds a bit childish and Curt sounds more adult. Should I introduce myself as Curt?
