Vacuum-packed frozen fish defrosted a week ago?

So I have some frozen tilapia that are individually vacuum packed and I thawed one in warm water (still packaged) and then decided to go out to eat that night, and put it in the fridge. Is it okay to eat since it's vacuum packed, or should I still stick to the normal rule of 2 days?
