Why didn't the hornets make the playoffs and suck so bad now?

The hornets 2 years ago were the #2 seed and lost in the semi-finals which was basically luck to the spurs. Then last year the Nuggets destroyed them and now they didn't even make the playoffs. Why is this happening? I don't understand they have the same people as they did before when they were good only difference is Chandler but he sucks just like Okafor. Chris Paul is good but I don't think he is the best PG because he can't shoot when you need him to he is a great ist man though but in the end points is what wins games not ist. I just want to know why do they suck so much now and they basically have the same roster as last year. Is it because people like peja and mo peterson isn't playing good like they used too??? Also do you think they will mkae the playoffs next year? I don't.
