Only Paramedics, nurses or anyone in that career need to answer...?

My friend last night called 911 because I collapsed in the park after ingesting to much alcohol. I was in and out of it...when the police arrived the one officer started rubbing my chest..like just above my ...why do they do that...the medics were doing it too. They also hooked up an IV...why? Plus Oxygen? They also kept tapping my cheek and lifting up my eyelids and flashing a light in it...when I was in the hospital bed they kept me on my side....The one officer asked my friend if I was faking it...I wasn't...I was semi-conscious but just didn't open my eyes because I didn't have the energy too. Also they stuck a tube down my nose...not all the way...it made my cough and my eyes started to water...they said welcome back honey...then the one medic had to try 3 times before getting the IV in right...everytime he would say...ur gunna feel a little prick..why do they do this. I don't remember any of this...this is all coming from ym friend...ask any questions and I will post them
