Is there any problem with the dsl internet connection in abu dhabi? please help?

i always use p2p software ARES for downloading video files. and i have 1mb speed and when i keep the files for download i always used to get 110 to 125 kbps with in seconds. but now since 1 week my download speed is going up and down. it is mostly at range of 5 or 15 or 30 kbps. it rarely reaches even 80 kbps. this never happened to me since these many years. does any one know the problem. i called etisalat and they say there is a problem generally with foreign connections which has affected the p2p. it might be the problem. but since these many years this never happened. so now its 1 week. and coincidently my modem also fell off my table too 1 week back. but they say there might not be any problem with modem. and there is no problem with my browsing. only with p2p downloads. does anybody knows what is the problem or when will this problem be solved. please help.
