Can I run 2 TVs off on ariel cable if I use a splitter ?

I operate 1 TV using a freeview ariel and we want to put another TV in the kitchen. Can I use an ariel splitter to operate both TVs from the same ariel cable and if so, can we get different programmes on each TV ?
